Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much do counseling sessions cost?
A: Visit this link for cost of sessions.

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Yes, I do. Visit this link to learn more about which insurances I accept.

Q: How long are sessions?
A: The first session is typically 1 hour long. All following sessions are 55 minutes long.

Q: What is the first session like?
A: After introductions, we will go over policies and paperwork. Then, we will complete an intake and create a treatment plan.

Q: Will you tell me what my child tells you in session?
A: No, I maintain their confidentiality unless there is a safety concern. This ensures that the therapeutic trust is maintained and the child feels safe to share their thoughts and feelings with the therapist.

Q: How long will I be in therapy?
A: It depends. Each person is unique in their concerns and all the other external factors. Therapy is not a quick fix. It involve exercising your self-awareness, learning and applying skills, and emotional regulation.

Q: What does it mean to be licensed?
A: Your therapist having a license means that you are protected. It means I am held accountable by a licensing board that makes sure the following happens:
  • I provide you with ethical and evidence-based care.
  • That I keep your information confidential unless there is a safety concern.
  • And that I continue to stay up-to-date on counseling practices through continuing education credits so you receive the most current care practices.
