How long are sessions?
The first session is typically 1 hour long. All following sessions are 55 minutes long.
What is the first session like?
After introductions, we will go over policies and paperwork. Then, we will complete an intake and create a treatment plan.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends. Each person has a unique history and external factors that influence their current concerns. Therapy is not a quick fix. It involves exercising your self-awareness and learning and applying new skills. We will regulary assess for progress throughout our time working together.
What is the youngest age you work with?
The youngest age I work with is typically 5 years old. This depends on the child's comfort with using devices and their ability to focus for the majority of the session.
What does it mean to work with a LICENSED therapist?
Working with a LICENSED therapist means you have protected rights. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am held accountable by a licensing board that makes sure the following happens:
- I provide you with ethical and evidence-based care.
- That I keep your information confidential unless there is a safety concern.
- And that I continue to stay up-to-date on best practices through continuing education credits.
